Rooted in Care. Guided by Values

A Legacy Reimagined; Challenge, Care and Confidence.

Rosmini Hybrid has been founded by parents and alumni affected by the closure of Loughborough Amherst School (LAS), formerly Our Lady’s Convent School (OLCS). The closure of such a uniquely inclusive and caring community left a deep void, particularly for students who had struggled to thrive in mainstream settings.

Determined to preserve its ethos and values, this group has created a new model that upholds the same values of compassion, holistic growth, and individual attention.

Our Values

Underpinned by Christian values, Rosmini Hybrid warmly welcomes children of all faiths and none. Adopting the school motto “Legis Plenitudo Caritas” (love is the fulfilment of the law), it continues to champion the virtues of Challenge, Care and Confidence.

Born from the closure of a beloved school, Rosmini Hybrid keeps its spirit alive through innovation and community. By honouring our past, we are shaping the future.

History & Vision

In 1850 Loughborough became the central house of the Rosminian Order of Sisters of Providence. Due to the commitment of Mary Arundell and Mary Amherst (Sister Mary Agnes), Our Lady’s Convent School developed as the first Roman Catholic School in England ran by Sisters. The spirit of the school was based on the philosophy of the Blessed Antonio Rosmini that “a pupil must be allowed to grow and develop as an integrated human person”. 175 years on, Rosmini Hybrid Education Hub intends to continue that legacy with the same visionary approach of the Sisters of Providence.

Rosmini Hybrid is a pioneering education model that embodies the Minerva learning culture with Rosminian philosophy. It is a community reborn in education with love and compassion as the foundation of education.

Our Culture

Minerva was the Roman Goddess of knowledge, wisdom, justice, law and victory. Rosmini Hybrid Education Hub has adapted the Minerva learning culture that was intrinsic to Loughborough Amherst School. The philosophy provided a unique combination of nurture and challenge, consisting of three key elements:

1.The learning environment (including extra curricular, value added or enrichment)

It is focused and calm, warm, fun, encouraging and supportive.

2.Knowledge and confidence

The curriculum is structured to focus on intrinsic cognitive load (the necessary information you need to learn. Through secure knowledge, confidence is built.

3.Nurturing a growth mindset

Diligence, resilience, self confidence and disciplined habits in an environment of habits, routines and expectations play a much greater part in success than initial intelligence and natural talent.

With these 3 key Minerva elements, Rosmini Hybrid Education Hub is reimagining education for the next generations with wellbeing, inclusivity and respect at the heart of learning.

A more affordable option than private schooling

As independent schools throughout the country close due to VAT being added to school fees and rising costs, Rosmini Hybrid continues the legacy of LAS as a more affordable option.

Many parents are being priced out of the private schools that are more suited to their children than the large state school provision. A recent survey from the Indpendent Schools Council showed a 3.6% decline of private education students and that the full impact of the government’s policies are “yet to be felt”.

At Rosmini Hybrid, we are moulding a new innovative approach to education as a more affordable alternative to our traditional independent schools which are becoming out of reach for many.
